Failure of a water pipe

Commissioned to investigate the burst of a water pipe that lead to extensive damages, MCS performed a number of CFD thermal analyses in order to evaluate the effect of insulation placement relative to the piping on the failure. Both natural and forced air convection was modeled to determine the heat transfer with the system. The images represent a preliminary model that has been modified for this discussion.
